Child Dedication

Luke 2:22
“Joseph and Mary took Jesus to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.”

Children are a gift from the Lord, and Child dedication is a time for parents to publicly declare their commitment to partner with God in raising their child.

This is also a special time for family and friends, and the church body to express their commitment to assist parents with this task.

By making this commitment you acknowledge that:
1. Your child is a gift from God.
2. Your life should be lived in a way that leads your child towards Christ.
3. You need the help of family, friends, and church to raise your child.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I go?

On the day of dedication, please meet near the fireplace in the lobby 20 minutes before service. You will be presented with a Certificate of Dedication for your child and a keepsake from Cathedral.

Do I need to attend the dedication class?

We strongly encourage you to attend the child dedication class. This is an important part of the dedication process for parents that desire to dedicate their child at Cathedral. At this class, you will also receive special invitations to invite family and friends.

Do I have to be a member of Cathedral to participate in a child dedication service?

No, participants need not be church members. We only ask that you be regular attendees with a desire to raise/bring your child up in a Godly, Christ centered home.
