Eric Terrill is currently in his 15th season as the head coach of the soccer program at Charleston Southern University. He currently holds a record of 105-136-14 in his time at CSU with a conference record of 38-47-13. In his 14 seasons, Terrill’s teams have finished in the top half of the conference nine times. He has coached 50 all-conference players, three freshmen of the year, one player of the year, 95 scholar-athletes, two Academic All-Americans, and four Big South Academic Athletes of the Year. Terrill has always been a strong recruiter with several All-Americans, region team players and state players of the year under his belt. In 2006, Terrill landed the No.1 recruiting class in the Big South, a class that was ranked 23rd in the East Region by Soccer Buzz Magazine. Terrill followed this in 2007 by landing the second-ranked recruiting class in the conference. This class included Michelle Dennis, who won Big South Freshman of the Year honors, made the All-Freshman Team, and was also named to the All-Conference Second Team. Marky Boyce was named to the All-Freshman Team and the All-Conference First Team. Terrill’s ‘07 squad tied the program record for most wins in a season (12) and most consecutive wins (6). He went into the ‘08 season with a strong recruiting class that included Anja Djumisic, who held her high school’s record for most goals in a career. Casey Bolduc held her high school’s record for goals in a season, transfer Amy Arroyo recorded seven shutouts at her previous school, and Olivia Urig twice won SC High School Player of the Year honors. Terrill has been coaching for 23 years; the first six as an assistant before earning his first head coaching job at Chowan College, where he directed both the men’s and women’s teams in 1993 and ‘94. He started the men’s and women’s programs from scratch at Chowan, and he led both programs to successful seasons before coming to CSU. Terrill served as assistant men’s and women’s coach at nationally ranked Lee’s McRae College from 1990-93 and as an assistant with the men’s program at Appalachian State from 1987-89. Besides his college coaching experience, Terrill has also been active in the soccer community as a club director and an instructor at several camps and clinics throughout the country. He currently serves as a South Carolina Olympic Development Staff Coach and has also been involved with Region III, Virginia ODP and Tennessee ODP. Terrill is a 1987 graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in physical education, and he earned his master of arts in education with a concentration in sports management from Appalachian State in 1989. 2009: Started in 16 games in which she played in all of the 18 games of the season…scored 4 goals with 8 assists…selected to the All-Conference Second Team…finished her career in a tie for third with 21 career assists. Recorded nine assists in 2007 (fourth most in a single season), and her eight assists this season were fifth most…had a stretch of six-straight games with an assist (Oct. 5 – Oct. 23), breaking the previous school record of four. 2008: One of three Bucs to start in all 19 contests...tallied a season high five shots Sept. 14 at Wagner on her way to 39 shots on the season…recorded 16 shots on goal…season high two assists Sept. 7 at Georgia Southern...had nine games with multiple shots and four games with multiple shots on goal. Defender Nigel Marples returns for a second season with the Charleston Battery after debuting in 2009; Marples previously played for the Harrisburg City Islanders. Marples, 6-1, 180 lbs., 24yrs., was a four-year starter and two-year captain at Towson University, where he was named to the 2006-7 NCAA All-Conference First Team. Forward Tom Heinemann returns to the Battery for a second season after appearing in 21 games in 2009 and scoring one goal. 2007: Had an exceptional season as a distributor while playing as a winger for Eric Terrill’s squad...recorded nine assists on the year, the fourth highest single season assist total in CSU program history...her nine assists also tied for the Big South lead on the season...raised her game in Big South games, as her seven assists in conference play were the most in the conference...assisted on both goals in CSU’s 2-1 victory at regular season champion Coastal Carolina Oct. 24...scored the game-winning goal and collected two assists en route to a four-point afternoon against Liberty Sept. 28...started all 19 games for CSU.
At Rider: Named to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Rookie team in her only year with the Broncs…played in 20 games, starting 17…had two goals and five assists.
High School: Won Home News and Star Ledger Player of the Year honors while playing for Piscataway HS in 2005…earned All-State honors three years and All-Conference honors all four years…played key role in Piscataway HS 2002 Greater Middlesex Conference Championship and state semifinal run…played basketball for three seasons.
Personal: Born April 20, 1987...daughter of Hilda and Bill Vroman…majoring in elementary education with hopes of being a teacher and a coach.
