The apostle Paul, nearing the end of his life and imprisoned in chains in Rome, wrote a letter to Timothy, a young pastor and friend in another city. Because of Paul's imprisonment, many people had deserted him. In this second letter to Timothy, he writes, "Do your best to come to me quickly...Only Luke is with me." (2 Timothy 4:9, 11)....
