Child Dedication at Cathedral of Praise
Child dedication is a time for parents to publicly declare their commitment to raise their child in such a way that he or she is given an opportunity to know God and to establish a personal relationship with Christ. It is a time for family and friends, and the church body at Cathedral of Praise to express their support and assist parents with this task.
We find the basis for child dedication in Luke 2:22, “Joseph and Mary took Jesus to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.” We believe God loves to add His grace to open hearts and surrendered lives.
Those wishing to participate need to understand the commitment you will be making by dedicating your child.
1. I know that my child is a gift from God.
2. I realize it is very important to commit myself to live a Godly life before my child so that he or she will have an example to follow.
3. I commit myself to give my child the opportunity to hear the gospel so that he or she might be able to have a personal relationship with Christ.
4. I commit myself to raise my child according to God’s plan and His Word.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I go?
On the date that you are scheduled to participate in the dedication, you will be asked to meet in the Living Room 30 minutes before the service begins. At this time, you will be presented with a memorable gift from Cathedral of Praise and have an opportunity to have a picture taken of you and your family to remember this special day.
Do I need to attend the dedication class?
We strongly encourage you to attend the child dedication class. This is an important part of the dedication process for parents that desire to dedicate their child at Cathedral of Praise. At this class, you will also receive special invitations to invite family and friends.
Do I have to be a member of Cathedral of Praise to participate in a child dedication service?
No, participants need not be church members. We only ask that you be regular attendees with a desire to raise/bring your child up in a Godly, Christ centered home.
